My dad worked for General Telephone from the Fifties and well into the Eighties. He told me that he was on the set when this was filmed (I’m not sure why, and now I’m sad that I can’t ask him if he participated in the heckling and vegetable-throwing).

He also told me that the actor got a cut on his forehead when the pie hit him.

In **Varsity Blues** , the “whipped-cream bikini” was shaving cream for that reason.
