Way back when, my Dad had a FUNK with a converted, inverted, Model A Ford engine.
I’m told you can pick up an Antonov AN-2 for around $30,000; I’d consider that “affordable” for a middle-class aviation enthusiast. $80,000 is getting into the “Rich Wanker” category, IMHO.
I’d love to learn to fly, but it just costs too much and I’ve already got one expensive hobby…
