I am about to make my first batch of peach-pineapple jam, something I’ve never seen in the stores, but know deep down that it has to be awesome because - well, because pineapple adds awesomeness to just about everything. While dreaming up the recipe, it occured to me that I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t like or love pineapple. Do you? ---

I don’t like it very well, and I don’t like jam either. I don’t hate either one and I’d eat either before I would starve to death, but I don’t eat them normally. ---

My son claims to not like it whenever I want to order Hawaiian pizza, but then whenever I have something with pineapple in it, he always has to have some, so I think he’s lying just to get pepperoni pizza. Otherwise, I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like pineapple. I love the shit out of it. ---

My fiance doesn’t like pineapple. He’s a picky eater and has a lot of aversions that I don’t really understand. ---

I’m a very picky eater but I’m the only one in my family who likes it. Whenever we get together and order pizza, I don’t even bother to ask if that can be one of the toppings; no sense ruining half a pizza for everyone else. Many of my friends also dislike it. ---

I don’t like raw pineapple. Once cooked, or used as a flavoring it varies from meh to pretty good. However, everyone should know, there is a special place in Hell for those who put pineapple on pizza. ---

Cheap canned pineapple (no sugar added, just pineapple chunks in juice) + dehydrator = gorp that others will wish they had. I love pineapple. 🙂 ---

I love it (a few weeks ago a store near my house had fresh pineapples for 99 cents! I bought one and gradually eroded it for lunch over the course of two or three days), but my roommate hates it. ---

There is a serious miscommunication going on. I love Nutella, but if you put it on my sausage pizza, We Will Have A Problem. Pineapple is yummy but many folks do not like fruit in savory dishes. That doesnt mean the dislike the fruit just the combo. ---

I don’t like it warm or cooked at all. But I’ll eat it fresh or canned until the skin in my mouth blisters. Ask me how I feel about salt & vinegar chips… ETA - I freeze the drained juice from pineapple cans to use when I slow cook pork as OMG it’s a delight to flavor pork w/ it. ---

I do not like it. I grew up more picky about it than I am now, though - now I like the essence of it (PINA COLADA HELLLOOOO!!!) but I still prefer not to eat the fruit itself. I’ll always pick it out of a fruit salad. But then again I’d eat some pineapple upside-down cake - I’d just not eat the pineapple just the cake and the goo. I’d never, ever eat a Hawaiian pizza. ---

Pineapple tastes great. Good, ripe, fresh pineapple blisters the inside of my mouth but I’ll eat it anyway if it’s there. Canned pineapple doesn’t cause the same allergic effect. I too don’t get the attraction to pineapple on ham. It’s like trying to make a meat sundae. Ruins the taste of both. ---

I’m a very picky eater and love pineapple. Raw, cooked, dried, juiced - even the cheap canned stuff isn’t bad. I was once around a toddler who was given pineapple for the first time. He ate a piece, gave his parents a look that clearly said “where has this been all of my life and why were you keeping it from me?” and then went straight for the rest of the bowl. I have never understood a pre-verbal child so completely. ---

I’ve enjoyed it in favor of the traditional Hawaiian style for years. ---

One of the best sandwiches I ever had in my life was when I was in the hospital recovering from an appendectomy. It was as basic as can be: hamburger bun, ham, American Cheese and a ring of pineapple, all toasted together. I told my family about it when I got home and we’ve all been making them ever since…well, me more than the rest of them! And I worked at the United Airlines tent at the Cleveland Airshow one summer, coring and slicing fresh pineapples flown in from Hawaii for the crowds. Even after a whole day spent sticky and surrounded by bees, and getting the corners of my mouth burned by the pineapple cores we were allowed to nibble on, I still love pineapple! And now of course I’m craving some. ---

I don’t care much for pineapple but don’t mind a bite or two now and then. I had a lot of fruits ruined for me thanks to the gloppy canned school lunch experience. I’m not a big fan of sweets in general, so a big mushy pile of goo covered is syrup was a non-starter. In fact, I don’t have a lot of love for pears or peaches either, due to the same early exposure.
