# Piper chats with the Nice Phone Lady

I thought I could hear the hoofbeats.

I just got a recorded message from The Phone Company, telling me that my account is overdue and PAY NOW or lose service. (“If you have already paid this bill, thank you for your attention to this matter.”)

Whew! I will not lose contact with the Teeming Millions.

I should add, I’ve done the same with my phone. While using it to talk to my husband, I was telling him I couldn’t find it. Of course my daughter was trying to tell me, but I wasn’t paying attention. Neither my husband or I realized it immediately.

I have had worse encounters, but i found Amazon to be better than average.
