Another reminder of why I love this place. Movie tickets went up in price some time this summer… They’re now up to $5.50. The second-run theater is a buck.
I finally saw the first one, and Jack Sparrow seemed more interesting, and Keira Knightly was waaaaaaaaay hotter in the first one.
But the second one was funnier, and the non-Sparrow characters had more to do. And Sparrow himself seemed to be rather more stupmofied.
One can only imagine where the third one will go.
The key to viewing a movie that is allegedly based on a Disney Park Ride is to not take the bloody thing seriously. I took the same view when watching The Island, and it worked just fine.
Certain movies suffer when you think too much.
Disney has a theme park ride about harvesting organs from unwilling clones?!
It must be in Epcot, right?
The ride bit applied to the pirates … the “not taking the movie seriously” applied to the Island.
Although that would be a neat theme park, where all the rides are based on dark themes: a Dawn of the Dead Ride, A Soylent Green Ride, A Fahrenheit 451 Ride, an I am Legend Ride (Same as the Dawn of the Dead Ride, but with Vampires instead of Undead), as well as an Island Ride.
Yeah - the bad ones.
Only Titanic and one of the LOTR movies hit that mark, as of a blurb in E!
That’s pretty good for a movie that was rated Arrrrrr!
What?
