Well, according to those in the know (I refer here, of course, to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Broadway smash _Cats_.), cats can be either ninja (Macavity, in particular is ninjaesque, but many, if not all of the qualities attributed to all the cats are ninjaish) or pirates (See, naturally, Growltiger–“The Terror of the Thames.”) Traditionally, cats have their place as both the swift, silent companions of ninja **and** as useful, rat-catching members of a ship’s crew. Why has no one mentioned keel-hauling? The Pirate Human Resources Manual specifically refers to keel-hauling under Tab B: Incentives for Shipboard Performance ---
