I don’t know why, but I’ve always loved these types of songs. Maybe it’s because my mother seemed to be the epitome of a “woman scorned” after her and my dad split up. I’m not sure. But I LOVE these type of songs. So, with that in mind, what are your top 5? I’m specifically referring to songs from the woman’s point of view, where she’s been screwed over. In no order, I think mine are: 1. [“Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!)” by Blu Cantrell](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMOKlXfXn50) 2. [“Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaSy8yy-mr8) 3. [“I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I) 4. [“Irreplaceable” by Beyonce](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EwViQxSJJQ) 5. [“You Oughta Know” by Alainis Morissette](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPcyTyilmYY). Yeah, I know this one’s kinda cliche and overplayed, and that it may or may not be heartfelt, but Jesus, it’s kinda hard to match the anger in that song. Come on, Dopers. What are your favorites? ---

Oooh. I had a playlist of these at one point… Sinead O’Connor’s “Troy” - goes from melancholy to furious and stays there. Beautiful. Hole, “Violet”. Love her or hate her, Courtney Love is never afraid to be pissed the hell off. More to come later… ---

Can’t forget the great-grandmama of them all “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” by Nancy Sinatra. A more modern entry “I Hate Myself for Loving You” by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. But I have to agree, cliched or not, nobody does angry-verging-on-psycho better than Alanis Morissette. ---
