Not defending the insertion of words into a quote, but referencing the color of buttocks is the purest form of non-racist references to a person’s color possible. Anyone can add the color of a person’s buttocks as an emphasis without it necessarily being _about_ the race. ---

(I avoided the clip in the OP but am incensed that a YouTube search for “Hank Williams” gives me so many hits for Junior.) ---

Hank III is actually pretty interesting to see live because he does a more-or-less traditional country show, but then does a hardcore punk/metal show after intermission. Although as of late the country stuff is veering more towards the hardcore stuff. It is uncanny how much Hank III looks and sounds like Hank Sr, unlike Jr. ---

Actually, they questioned his assertions quite a bit more than I would have expected. I think he thought he was going into a situation where he could be as off-the-wall in his rhetoric as he wanted. What’s wrong with comparing Obama to Hitler anyway? Barack Obama is taller than Hitler was. There, I just compared Obama to Hitler. ---

Sigh. I know I’m going to get slammed for this. I understand this is the pit, but can we not disagree with another poster without resorting to name-calling? I vehemently disagree with CS’s assertion as well. I just don’t see how calling him a dumb f\*\*\* advances the discussion, or does anything other than to antagonize. I don’t mean to single you out, **Blank Slate**. You’re, by far, not the only poster who engages this way. I use your post for illustration purposes only. Back to the topic… I’m sorry, Chessic, your analogy doesn’t hold in this case, especially in light of Mr. Williams admitting that he was comparing Obama to Hitler. ---
