Wow, it’s a long way from “taking exception” to someone and showing up with a pickaxe and machete! I hear “take exception to” in the Comic Book Guy voice. ---

According to the article: “A British man said to have carried out the country’s first “Web rage” attack was jailed for **2-1/2 years on Friday** \* for assaulting a man with whom he had exchanged insults over the Internet.” Wow, a 2-1/2 year long Friday. How come weekends are never 2-1/2 years long? 🙂 \*bolding mine ---

Rather, we would say that he was **sentenced** to jail for 2 1/2 years on Friday. ---
