# Pit rules have been revised

**Ed** –One of the reasons many of us are reacting so badly to your “relax and leave it to me” attitude is that we simply do not trust your judgement any more.

This whole “rule #2” business is one example of why.

But a better example is you [warning a poster for violating the rules DAYS before the rules were even announced](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=506532&page=2).

There may be room for disagreement on whether Rule#2 is reasonable and/or enforceable, but there is no room for disagreement on the latter issue.

Even if **Lizard** did have a time machine, I really doubt he’d use it to go a few days into the future and read About This Message Board just to make sure that there wouldn’t be any new rules that he might be retroactively violating.
