# Pit rules have been revised

I never used the pit much, but occasionally it was nice to know that I could just go on a tear about some issue or some poster and be as satisfyingly abusive as I cared, and no one would give a second glance as long as I wasn’t insulting their intelligence.

**Ed Zotti** , your comments in this thread debasing, falsely portraying, and ignoring the real concerns of real, adult posters is insulting to the intelligence of the many, many posters who are genuinely concerned about your judgment and about the future of the forum they love.

You owe them an apology.

Or, if you feel revulsion at the idea that you should be serving the needs of the content creators and lifelong fans of the SDMB, rather than the other way around, I humbly request that you shut the board down now. It will end happier than will trying to make and enforce rules that exist almost entirely in your head.
