No, clearly what happened is he did such a great job in the Army that he was laterally transferred to the Navy _that’s_ how he bounced between Colonel and Captain. He retired as both! ---

And we are just jealous of his imaginary achievements, because we are shackled by our real life failures, teaching children, running cash registers, building bridges, repairing cars, doing financial analysis, writing software, running dog training businesses.
