That would be a weird thread in the Pit, though. That’s more like a MPSIMS thread to me. Something like, “Hey, Joe Biden stumbled over his words and he ended up sounding like he said the N-word. Right wing boards are losing their shit over it.” Doesn’t seem like Pit material to me. ---

It should be noted that **Friendly Curmudgeon** wasn’t alone in thinking that Biden said the N-word. A great deal of posts in the comment section of that YouTube video claimed the same, too. Doesn’t meant they were right, but FC certainly wasn’t a lone person thinking that thought. ---

So at least one bot is under the impression that Biden said the N word. ---

So are you suggesting that it’s credible that even _one_ person who might have been watching the closed captions with the sound off, saw the closed caption including the slur, and accepted that such a bizarre thing was correct without bothering to go back and listen with the sound on? ---

No, I am suggesting that there may be other bots in the YouTube comment section making the same mistake 😉 And also that there may be humans whose capacity for distinguishing sounds is on par with the YouTube closed captioning bot. ---

I’ve cited stuff from Ed Zotti with regards to rules clarifications and was explicitly told that that was rules lawyering. Do I really need to detail the sequence events of why I state claims for so called cites are farcical? Seriously, it’s a farcical game you folks are engaged in and no set of cites will convince those who don’t want to be convinced. ---

Your error is relying on your interpretation of something Ed said when; Ed doesn’t really run this place the mods do and when the mods disagree with Ed Ed, when he’s being smart, defers to the mods. You didn’t latch onto that rule because it’s a ‘’‘rule’’’ you latched onto it because it gave you the result you desired in the first place.
