"Pitch" on Fox

Which is meaningless. With no variation big league hitters will adjust to just about anything. (Mariano, exception to the rule) Throw a 105mph fastball? It better have a lot of movement or you have a second pitch or the second time through the lineup they will be teeing off you. The screwball, circle change, split finger fastball all work because of a change of speed and unexpected movement. If you don’t have that pitch to change speeds from then it is just batting practice. Fernando was effective because his 70mph screwball came with a 90mph fastball.

The knuckleball is different because it is so unpredictable if thrown right.

Looks like Ginny Baker’s injury was career-ending - Fox has cancelled (or “not renewed,” if you’re pedantic about it) Pitch.

The curse of the babe…

Hopefully MLB network will take a chance on it. Or another network.

Unlikely, though, and that’s a shame. This was a good show.

Bummer! I really liked the first season.

Bah. I thought it was relatively creative and resisted being formulaic.
