I consider myself to be middle, of the left end of the spectrum. I often see posters to the left of me, never mind conservatives, get crucified on this board. So I mostly give political post a wide hearth. And it appears to me this pitting, is mainly to ensure this sort of self policing stays firmly in place. In regards to politics, this board is the best insulated echo chamber I have ever encountered. Granted I stay away from the far right one. ---
