What’s wrong with the O? Their fries can’t be beaten, though I’ll admit that the atmosphere is somewhat…lacking. Oh well! February is pretty clear for me, so I think I’ll take iampunha’s route of forcibly removing any other plans that happen to come up. e-mail me about this weekend, and we’ll work something out if you really don’t want any Original food. ---

There’s always Primantis. I only recently started going downtown about two years ago with a friend who turned into a stalker. (Almost). It had been years since I hung out down there. The best places I know of are all in the suburbs, like the North Park Lounge Clubhouse. ---

So where are we going to meet Feb 23-5? My idea is Harrisburg, basically because it’s somewhat near both Pitt and B-more/DC, but some NJ/DE dopers could make it and given that we’re setting it up far in advance, some NY dopers might be able to make the trek:) ---

Ach, an’ who would ha’ thought there’d be so many Dopers in Pittsburgh? Add me to the list, though for spring break (Mar 2 - 11) I will be far from here (in CO visiting the gf! :D). I am an ex-Pittsburgher. I moved away in '94. I was planning to stay in Pittsburgh forever, but life intervened and I ended up in New Jersey. CMU class of '93, btw. And let me say that I am really glad that the O is still around. I heard a nasty rumor that it had been closed down. Anyway, depending on date and finances, I might well be willing to travel to a Pittsburgh dopefest. I’d love an excuse to come back for a visit. Thoughts on locations: –Hotlicks in Shadyside. Maybe we could get the upstairs room –Gullifty’s in Squirrel Hill (boring, I know, but a good place for a group) –Somehwere on the South Side, and we can go bar-crawling after we eat. –Are Rosebud and Metropol still around? Can you get in if you’re under 21? –The O is always an option, too, but I don’t know if my 29-year-old stomach could handle it. Anyway, it sounds like a great idea. ---

Hotlicks? Ouch, man, you really have been gone for a while. Unfortunately, it’s gone, gone, gone. Now, Gullifty’s is a great possibility. THough, they don’t like me much since I gave an impromptu speech in it, for the amusement of my friends. Still, I was wearing a santa hat and trench coat at the time, so they might not recognize me. I’d be happy to relate the story, but alas, not enough time now, maybe later. E-mail, perhaps. Still, gullifty’s would be fun, since I live right by it. ---
