I sent Askthepizzaguy a PM asking how he’s related to PH and how he is so knowledgeable in the pizza business. He replied that he is an employee of one of the the Top 3 pizza chains in the US (in terms of sales) and he wouldn’t mind how critical I was of PH. I asked his permission to make that info known and he agreed. I am posting this so that when I make some remarks about pizza companies and ask him questions, everyone will know why I’m asking him about the pizza business. I tasted some Pizza Hut pizza about ten years ago and it was extremely greasy. When I squeezed the crust, it would ooze oil. I know that Askthepizzaguy has said they have changed their menu and their pizza is no longer so greasy. I will have to try a slice at the location they opened across the street from me. I’ll let you all know what I find. ---

Could start your research by reading this thread and finding the post where Askthepizzaguy tells us that the Pan Pizza crust is literally soaked in oil all day. I guess you can let us know if it’s more or less oil than you remember. ---

Do the Big Three pizza chains really kidnap people for slavery rings after harvesting their organs for their sausage? Try it without the garlic butter, you have to like it or hate it, its going to be a reaction. The taste should be similar without the garlic butter. I can’t taste the difference between new and old if the crust is dry, maybe a little bit on the texture. ---

My aforemention hatred of the breadstick seasoning. It’s like a salty garlicky powder which detracts from the taste of the bread itself, doesn’t enhance it at all (in my very much the minority opinion) 3. I can eat the boneless wings but I’ve had much better tasting boneless wings lots of other places and I can’t fathom for the life of me why we can’t carry those. That’s it. Everything else on the menu, there’s nothing wrong with the ingredients. It’s how it’s prepared and whether you actually like that flavor or not. And when you’re ordering a pan pizza, so long as you know it’s soaked in oil, that’s what you’re going to get. There’s nothing wrong with the vegetable oil itself, except that there’s too much of it imo. ---

I’m fine with veggie oil and deep-fried pan pizza–it’s the only way a pan-pizza is edible, boneless wings are gross–wings have bones, weird bonless chunks of meat that are oblong aren’t wings and lemon-pepper belongs on steak, circa 1987. And garlic powder is simply uncool. It’s like the Ralph Malph of the seasonings–with real garlic being the Fonz. I _do_ notice that you didn’t answer my question about the BIG PIZZA cabal kidnapping people for slavery and/or hunting them for sport and using their organ meat to make their delicious sausages and pepperoni. \*Are _they_ onto you? We have safe-houses, man. Also, now that you’re on the spot, what about the orbital mind-control lasers? You think people don’t know about that? That’s why pizzas are delivered in those boxes but on a thin sheet of foil–the foil reflects the lasers for _people in the know_. But we’re on to the Big Pizza Conspiracy. That said, for god’s sake, what has happened to Charlie Wayne?!?! ---

So here’s my after-action report on the new Pizza Hut flavors. ☹ The pretzel crust (on pan) is inedible. So much salt. And this comes from a guy who’s known to suck on bullion cubes and who usually eats other people’s pizza crusts. TOO MUCH SALT. I can’t discern any flavor other than salt. The garlic butter crust (on hand-tossed) is… well, it’s just Papa Johns’ fake-butter, fake-garlic dipping sauce. Only they put it on the crust so that it makes a mess of your hands and so that you can’t control just how much you dip into. There we go, the new Pizza Hut slogan “Like Papa John’s, only messier.” I’ll stick with the traditional crusts and flavors, thanks. On another note, I see people dissing the boneless wings. I’m pretty happy with those, honestly, though they should be called something other than wings. (Chicken Bites?) They’re certainly better than the Pizza Hut/Wing Street bone-in wings, which are just this side of undercooked every time I’ve ordered them. (The meat is just barely cooked, but the bone itself is still bloody.) I’ve taken to putting the oven on about 250 and giving them another 15-20 minutes at home. ---

I used to love the hand tossed too because it seemed like the thickness and consistency was in between the pan and thin crust. Ever since they changed it more times then not when I order the hand tossed reminds of the thin but with thick crust. Sometimes it comes and it’s even thinner on the bottom then the thin crust which I didn’t think was possible which to me doesn’t taste very good. When they do actually make the hand tossed correctly it tastes pretty good. That doesn’t seem to happen very often anymore though. I like the Asiago flavored crust and Cheddar if I choose BBQ as the sauce. Ever since they came out with this new menu it seems like they got skimpy with the toppings though. ---

I, too, disliked the garlic butter/Hut Favorite (but \*\*ATPG \*\*was right, it’s awesome on breadsticks) but the baked-in parmesan is something different. Not more messy and quite divine. ---

But he’s been posting elsewhere on the board. And it’s been more than a month since the promised review. My only conclusion is that there is some nefarious collusion between Askthepizzaguy as a representative of BIG PIZZA and Charlie Wayne. Payoffs? Bribes? Has Jimmy Hoffa’s body been found in Charlie Wayne’s goldfish pond? Was it a subtle warning to Charlie? And then there’s the missing 18 minutes of tape. Are the rumors true that you were promised free pizza for life if you’d only hold you review? WE OF THE SDMB DEMAND TO KNOW. Askthepizzagy, Charlie Wayne, come clean. ---
