Yes, I had two slices of pizza for lunch today from the local food court. This got me thinking of the best places for pizza. I’m talking local pizza parlors here, or small chains. As for large chains, **Uno’s** can’t be beat. DC area: **Armand’s**. The original Armand’s at 111 King was the first restaurant I went to after moving here. My brother took me there for the lunch buffet right after I got off the train. **Joe’s Pizza** has a white pizza which is great with their seafood toppings. And the variety at **The Lost Dog Café** can’t be beat. New Orleans: **Mama Rosa’s** , hands down. Beaumont, TX: **Mazzio’s**. Good pizza and a _nice_ salad bar. ---

I agree thart **Pizzeria Uno’s** pizza is great stuff (I ate at the very first branch, Pizzeria Duo, back when they only had two stores, both of them in Chicago). But my personal choice for best pizza and pizzeria is **The Pie** , AKA **The Flying Pie** , across from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. BIG slices of pizza, very well made. An underground student hangout with brick walls. And innovative pizza like varieties of Chinese Food Pizza, in addition to the usual variations. ---

In Dayton, OH: **Cassano’s** or **Marion’s** are, hands down, the best. In Columbus, OH: **Donato’s** held that title, though some would say **Catfish Biffs _(we ain’t got no fish)_** or **The Flying Tomato** were their favorite, but those were more niche. Donato’s is also expanding to Dayton and Cinci and some people don’t care for them,s o who knows. In Cincinatti, OH: **La Rosa’s** is pretty darn good. Toledo, OH: **Marco’s** is okay but there was another one…shoot, I can’t remember the name…maybe by putting **UncleBeer** s name in here, he’ll be able to help out. Big’ole national chains? **Uno’s** works for me. ---

**thinksnow** … I never much liked **Cassano’s** or **Marion’s** , mainly because they serve that thin crust stuff. I prefer pizza the thickness of **Pizza Hut’s** hand tossed pizza. Always liked **La Rosa’s** , too. Bang for the buch…nothing beats **CiCi’s** pizza. All you can eat for $3.99. ---

My favorite place - Aurelio’s - various locations in the south suburbs of Chicago. The original is in Homewood. The sauce is what makes this one my favorite - slightly sweet but not too sweet. Also, my best buddy in college worked at one of the locations and used to “put extra jizz on it” for me. 😃 ---

I’ve been to CiCi’s down in Beaumont, loved their dessert pizzas. The DC equivalent is the aformentioned Joe’s. ---

For a chain Papa John’s is the best hands down. Mmm…that buttery garlic dipping sauce…yummy. I’m not sure if this is an independantly owned place but Sergeant Pepperoni has excellent pizza. I’m getting fat just thinking about it. ~Kittie ---

For a chain Papa John’s is the best hands down. Mmm…that buttery garlic dipping sauce…yummy. I’m not sure if this is an independantly owned place but Sergeant Pepperoni has excellent pizza. I’m getting fat just thinking about it. ~Kittie ---

I haven’t found any great pizza in St Louis yet, but for anyone in Salt Lake City, Pie Pizzaria (1320 E 200 S) was great! I had a sun dried tomato and shrimp pizza there in 1986 that I still remember as one of the best things I’ve ever put into my mouth. Back in the early to middle 80’s my mom found an ungodly good pizza place in Santa Ana, Bruno’s Casa Napoli. Apparently they’re no longer there, but damn they made good pizza! ---

I’ll bet I’m in the minority, but I love Pizza Hut. Especially their stuffed crust. It’s so cheesy and zesty! There is also this GREAT pizza place-Lorenzo’s, right next to the place I get my hair done. They have a take and bake for 5 bucks that is really good. And you can buy jars of their sauce, so you can make your own pizzas with the sauce. ---

**Buffalo, New York** - Bocce Club, leonardi’s, and La Nova, in that order. Really, it’s hard to find bad pizza in Buffalo – there’s none of this flat-crust sun-dried tomato and artichoke heart crap, or greasy “New York style” za in the City of Good Neighbors. ---

Lexington, Ky- Donato’s, great sauce and great toppings. good thin crust Destin, Fl.- merlin’s. it is the best ever, so many choices of pizza style, it is amazing. ---
