Iraq sought significant of ammount of uranium from Niger. That’s pretty close to a fact. They were shopping, they had high ranking people there. That is verifiable. We had Joe Wilson there, and he almost certainly knew about it. Once again that has to be close to fact. Your references siad the same thing, and so did mine. Not to mince words here, but all the arguments seem to agree that Iraq went shopping.

I provided many sources on the one of the Scooter discussions that were disregarded out of hand stating that Joe Wilson had a political political motivations in retaliation before this retaliation.

Yes, well, that’s because, based on his personal history, the idea that Wilson might have had a personal hard-on for the Republican Party or the Bush Admin is really not very plausible.

That is not what I see, my basic point is that you are swallowing hook line an sinker the spin of the Republicans, from a fellow that protests or mentions Republicans are supposed to be held in contempt too, you are always relying on their news as the gospel. The second problem is that you are still then repeating information that was debunked and false, bad enough that your information is coming from biased cites, worst that you claim you don’t trust any side, worseX10 when they do not have the facts with them: see the next item.

This discussion is if the party wars should be able to bite into our wallets. From the legal folk above, it looks like the people involved in the case are immune while you are I are not immune from paying Plame her damages. Rodney King style. Should the Governemt of the US sue Joe Wilson for incompetence? He was there, it was his job, and he failed willingly or not. Maybe we should sue Plame for nepotism for getting her hubby the job that they thought was a non-job.

On CNN’s October 28 breaking-news coverage of the indictment of vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby on charges related to the investigation of the leak of the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame, CNN national security correspondent David Ensor challenged the suggestion that Plame “suggested her husband [former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV] be sent to Niger” to investigate a possible deal to sell uranium to Iraq. Ensor reported that he had “talked to very high intelligence officials who say that just isn’t true.” Ensor then reported that the “very high intelligence officials” said that “it was senior officers above her [Plame] who had the idea of sending Ambassador Wilson” based on his past experience in Niger and as an ambassador elsewhere in Africa. Ensor noted that, according to his sources, Plame subsequently responded positively to the suggestion in an e-mail "to higher-ups at the CIA who suggested that Joe Wilson be sent.

Maybe the country of Iraq could sue Plame for the whole war that might have not happened if the intelligence in Niger was believable because there was an compitent source present.

Glad you mention Iraq, it is now costing more than a half a trillion dollars of our money, Bush and company did that to Plame to silence descent in that regard. And their efforts continue to make sure our money goes into the Iraq sinkhole. And you are sounding silly when you mention once again the lie that Plame made Wilson go.

When you stand up to minimize what did happen here, you are minimizing that it is not Plame who Iraq should sue.

The British government apparently reached a similar conclusion in a September 24, 2002, dossier detailing Iraq’s alleged weapons of mass destruction programs. The dossier stated, “As a result of the intelligence we judge that Iraq has … sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa, despite having no active civil nuclear power programme that could require it.”

However, a separate section of the October 2002 NIE noted INR’s alternative assessment that “the claims of Iraqi pursuit of natural uranium in Africa” were "highly dubious."

On Special Report, Kondracke also claimed – falsely – that Wilson’s report on his findings “was never accepted by anybody.” As Media Matters for America has noted, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence concluded in a 2004 report that the CIA interpreted Wilson’s Niger findings as confirmation of its assessment at that time that Saddam had sought uranium in Africa. However, the committee also concluded that the INR interpreted Wilson’s report as confirmation of its competing “assessment that Niger was unlikely to be willing or able to sell uranium to Iraq.” In addition, the committee concluded that, based on the intelligence available at the time, INR was correct in its assessment that there was not a “compelling case” that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear weapons program:

After reviewing all the intelligence provided by the Intelligence Community and additional information requested by the Committee, the Committee believes that the judgment in the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear program, was not supported by the intelligence. The Committee agrees with the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) alternative view that the available intelligence “does not add up to a compelling case for reconstitution.”

Sooo … Start a topic on bedwetting. Do we have the right in this country to aide the opposing side in a war? Apparently so. Jane Fonda and Kerry did it. The one and only original function of the federal government was war. The rest has been added to the continous bloat of government’s rights that the people used to have.
