Hiya Kids - The Future Mr. Smashed asked. I said, Sure, why not… We started planning the big, exciting wedding of the century…We started thinking that was a pain and started planning the smallish-wedding-of-the-century… still sucked. (Those of you who are married i am SURE know what I’m grouching about here…) and so on… After eliminating the idea of having any sort of formal wedding because planning stuff isn’t our bag, we decided to elope. Now I’ve decided that eloping is too much planning. We don’t want to hire some wedding planner to just do everything. We want something FUNNNNNNNNNNN and planners are just too foo-foo for me. I will not not not not not stuff myself into one of those dresses… We can travel anywhere pretty much, and have a month off work. I’ve decided that the dopers of the world would probably do the best job coming up with cool ideas on what to do for a memorable occasion. (Oh, we wanna do it this December) _**sits back and (HOPEFULLY) watches the wedding plan itself…**_\* Oh, ahem, I mean, would anyone out there be so gracious as to contribute ideas??? I was a December bride myself…_sigh_. What kind of people are you and fiance? Or rather, what do the two of you enjoy and where do you live? Would you rather wear swimsuits while basking in the sun in Australia or dancing up Bourbon Street in New Orleans? Give us something to work with…where do you want to go? ---

oh oh oh, that would help, no?? We’re, uh, funny people… \*Uh, how to describe ourselves… We’re 29 and 32, he’s a computer geek, I’m a PhD in Microbiology but I work as a bartender (whole long other story…) We’re Portland Oregonites, not at all pretentious sorts (live in a little one bedroom on the eastside, drink pabst beer.) Cheesiness rules… We’re also both ex professional surfers, so beaches are great. We’re also in a punk band, I’m the drummer, he’s a bass player. Neither of us has normal hair… Um… yikes. I suppose we want to do something fun and exciting, romantic and EASY TO PLAN TO DO… We have the finances to do something fairly interesting (we’d saved up the moolah to have the big old wedding of our parent’s dreams) The only rule we have is we will not under any circumstances get married at Disney World. ---

I agree with the Vegas suggestion. You can get ANY kind of wedding you want and all you have to do is show up. Be sure to get a feed so we can all watch! I saw a special on it, Elvis is mild compared to some. Or just do the drive-thru chapel!
