But I just love the KTVU Channel 2 news report that listed the crew as:
– Captain Sum Ting Wong
– Wi Tu Lo
– Ho Lee Fuk
– Bang Ding Ow
That KTVU Channel 2 news reporter was Tori Campbell.
Yes, several apologies were issued, and KTVU producers fired, but still…
too bad there wasn’t a check ride pilot who could correct his error.
I honestly don’t understand why they aren’t charged with negligent homicide.

If they were flying the aircraft they would have landed safely.
The function of a checkride pilot is to certify pilots. If they can’t fly the plane then the whole system breaks down.
All the times I was handed emergency situations as a student pilot the phrase “fly the plane” was hammered into me. I just can’t imagine watching the scene unfold right in front of them and doing nothing.
So the pilots know how to program a flight management computer. But they can’t, you know, fly an airplane in middle of the day in perfect weather.
