I understand that the US spyplane downed in China a few years ago might have had a Chinese fighter flying underneath one of its wings, forcing it to turn into Chinese airspace where any action against it was legal. Could this be acheived for so small an aircraft as a Cessna?

Note that the Chinese fighter pilot died attempting that little maneuver. Doesn’t sound like a high-percentage move for the USAF.
