# Planet of the Apes - not charming any more

As I said in my review over on the UnaBoard, calling this movie a steaming dungpile is an insult to all the serviceable, hard-working compost heaps that do so much for our country every day.

It’s a bad sign when you’re going “What the hell?” at the stupidity five minutes into the movie. The whole movie was like one long halfhearted afterthought. No one in either the movie or the audience wanted to be there or cared about what was going on. At the end of the movie, I didn’t know a single character’s name, and didn’t care.

One more plot hole that hasn’t been discussed yet. At the end, he emerges near Saturn, semi-out-of-control. When he hits Earth (5 seconds later, but I’ll let that one go), he’s _still_ out of control! How exactly do you accomplish interplanetary travel in an out of control ship? Can you imagine the precision it would take just to get back to Earth in the first place?
