I too thought that even the entire worldwide population of apes, made intelligent, and armed with machine guns, still would be quickly and easily put down.

But the movie sidesteps that issue entirely by going in a different direction.

Not that I want to spoil a movie before I’ve even seen it but is it similar to the scenario that was at the core of **12 Monkeys **(assuming you’ve seen that movie)?
