Doing anything for Valentine’s Day? Today is a telecommuting day, so I bought the roses last night and gave them to the SO. She saved the card for today; and she’ll probably cry when she reads it, as sincere as it is. I wanted to make filet mignon for dinner, but Trader Joe’s was out. Instead, I bought a couple of their stuffed flank steak. (It’s steak rolled around some sort of white cheese and green leaves.) The corner market had some nice asparagus, so that will be the veg. I’ll make escargots in mushroom caps for an appie, and I got a Trader Joe’s cheesecake for dessert. We have Merlot to drink. Other than dinner, the roses, and a card, no plans for today. I’m going to spend all day working, and then cooking. ---

Today will be just like the 30 other VD’s in our marriage - just another day. Neither of us consider it to be a big deal, which is part of why we’re a great match. 😃 ---

Valentine’s Day is not celebrated in Señora Iggy’s home country. She tends to forget about it so I am off the hook. But whoa be to me if I forget Día de Amor y Amistad. The first year we were together it fell on my birthday. I knew nothing about it. Señora Iggy was dropping hints and it got down to “You know what tomorrow is, right?” Sí, claro! It was not such a happy birthday for me. ---

I read that post title super wrong. I’m sure the answer (for the other VD) will be the same for some people: Ice Antibiotics My birthday is a few days away, so we usually dot celebrate as a couple. I’m making origami animals for my kids, though. ---

The last girlfriend I had, we always went out to a Chinese restaurant for VD. She would invariably order steamed frogs’ legs and chunks of tofu swimming in hot red pepper oil. That should have told me something about the future of our relationship right there. :smack: ---

He’s working today (YAY!!!) and I’m working today (as usual). Around lunchtime he’ll most likely be done with his job, so we’ll probably go to the bar for awhile then we’ll come home and I’ll work more. $3 u call it - nothing says I love you quite like a $3 Tanqueray and Tonic. And Jager shots for me and Patron shots for him. We are all about $3 u call it. Dinner for me will most likely be either corn dogs or sliders, I don’t know what he’s going to eat. Unless he has something up his sleeve I don’t 'konw about, but chances of that happening are kinda slim. 😃 ---

There were flowers on the table this morning. How lovely - it reminds me that spring is almost here. And I got him a shirt, but he needed a shirt anyway, and I just took the opportunity. Other than that we are both working and I have class this afternoon, and seriosuly, I’d never go out to eat on this day. ---

Dinner at a nice restaurant, tickets to a concert. The tickets were technically a Christmas gift, it just happened they were playing on Valentines Day. It makes no sense to drive home from work, eat dinner and come back into the city for the show, so I made reservations at a place I love just a few blocks from the venue. ---

A local restaurant does a very nice Valentine Dinner. I believe this will be the third consecutive year we’ve gone. Eight o’clock seating, special menu and wine list. Fresh cut flower arrangements that are yours at the end. Last year I had osso bucco and I hope they offer it again! ---

Well I’m going to see my therapist at noon. Other than giving my daughters candy and a small gift, Valentine’s day just isn’t a good day for me. It reminds me that the person I love is never coming home. Damn. ed. to add: I didn’t actually plan the appointment for today, it’s just the time I was given. 😉 ---

We’re going out to a favorite restaurant that offers a special 4 course menu. I suspect I will get flowers. I bought him a box of Vosges caramel marshmallows and a bottle of Chateauxneuf-du-Pape.
