Penicillin was the correct answer to the thread title. I left the house at 5 am and I won’t get home until after 10 pm but I’m going to try and sneak home and leave a box of cupcakes and a rose for her. ---

^^^ One of the lucky guys who is off the hook because SO don’t dig on Valentine’s Day. So my plans are to work my second job for a few hours this evening, while she goes for a run with the dog. Then I’ll go home, maybe grill something and have a few extra beers because we took the day off tomorrow. But considering that tomorrow, we’re having sushi at ‘our’ place for lunch, and then going bowling…and that she got a ring on Tuesday…I could count all that as VD stuff if I had to. ---

Seven years ago, I got a car on VD. It was just a coincidence - that was the day it was ready to be picked up - but it didn’t stop my husband from telling his coworkers he got me a car! 😛 And I’ve still got the car and I still enjoy it, so there’s that! ---

About 4:30 this morning I realized that I didn’t have anything to give Celtling for Valentines Day. Celtling takes holidays _VERRRRRYYYY_ seriously. So I pulled out my pastels, and some of her construction paper, and drew a bunch of flowers on a card and put a nice note inside. Then I grabbbed a crochet hook and some red and green yarn and started making her a big fluffy rose. Unfortunately she woke up early, so I was still working on the stem when she came in. There is also a big mess of our favorite sherry and onion chicken in the crock pot which we are both looking forward to tonight. Poor doggie, he has to smell it all day! 😃 We’ll probably treat him with a nice big hunk of chicken too. ---

I give metaphorical candy as well. Guys should definitely get gifts! I forgot–he also got an early Valentine last weekend. I had to work all weekend, so I left him a surprise snack in the fridge for Super Bowl Sunday–some Mahon cheese and a spicy pickle from our local wine-and-cheese shop. ---

We don’t normally celebrate V-day, but this year our favorite restaurant is having a special dinner menu that sounds amazing, and Monday my husband goes back to work after 4 months off, so a celebration is in order. Other than that, we don’t do gifts or cards so business as usual. ---

I’ll probably going to continue editing a movie for a multi-media installation exam. Me and a friend had this half-assed plan about filming me going on an adult chatroom with flowers and champagne and pretend, but that’s a bit too sad, even for me. So we’ve been home for a few hours now, and he gave me a PRESENT!! No Cold Duck, but he recorded an hour of Adam-12 and an hour of Dragnet for me!!! 😃 And he did it while we were out! I had NO IDEA! We will watch it as soon as TMZ is over (that’s what we’re watching now.) I love him and he loves me - for all our weirdness - we’re weird together I guess. It’s really been a great Valentine’s Day - and I’ll make him a really special meal over the weekend when I have time to really do it right - he said he can’t wait. It’s been almost 20 years - I truly love him more every day. Unless he’s pissing me off about something. 😃 ---

Hubby is out saving lives and aleviating suffering until tomorrow morning. He called twice today to tell me he loves me. Unfortunately, he’s had a spate of patients that may have Norovirus. I reminded him to wash his hands… alot. That’s not the kind of gift I’d like. ---
