Far too risky. A request for approval could lead to a denial and then you don’t get the cochinita pibil you need. You can’t afford that chance. Best to disappear into the streets and be unreachable for 20 minutes or so while you do what’s right.
Seriously, though, it is quite close and you’ll be hungry from your flight and bus ride.
This is an excellent point. I must come up with a plausible ruse to keep her distracted long enough for a torta run.
Late summer will be very hot, personally I can’t be more than a couple steps away from pool or beach during dayiight hrs. We went to aviary in Playacar in the morning and I don’t know if I’ve ever been more miserable due to the heat/humidity.
We’ll go into PDC a couple times at night, maybe a couple breakfasts in the morning. Buffets at the resort do get dull and samey after a while. We’ve never been to Tulum, but I love the freedom of getting off campus a couple times and exploring in a safe place, 5th Ave is very touristy and safe. Never been out to Senor Frogs or the like after 11pm, so I can’t speak to the hardcore nightclub scene.
I always wanted to stay in Playa in a condo, but so far can’t convince the wife. I’d love the freedom to drink and eat when and how I want. I think AirBNB condo and buy your own food/drink might even be cheaper and more exciting than an AI resort.
The place where we’ll be staying provides free breakfast, not AI, so we’ll most definitely be eating at various places.
