# Playstation 2 Default DVD Password

Dear Dopers;  
A friend of mine has decided to watch a DVD on her ps2 for the first time, but can’t find her operating manual. I look for my own, and surprise surprise, mine is lost to the world as well.

What the heck is the default DVD password? I told her everything that sounded right to try, and none of them work. :smack:

And don’t worry, I advised her to set the password to ‘0000’ as soon as we have it figured out 🙂 .

I’ve played DVDs on mp PS2 but have never been prompted for a password. Maybe I’ll check my manual to see what you’re talking about…

It’s a parental lock thing. To play R rated movies you have to input a password.

I went through the same nightmare last year with my son’s PS2. It IS in the manual somewhere, though.

My PS2 prompts me to set a password everytime I watch an R rated movie. Every time, I punch in 00000 as the password, then it asks me for it again, and then it shows the movie. I never bothered reading the manual, but the 5 seconds it takes every time isn’t much of a bother
