Please Braves, don't sign Griffey, Jr.

Little Ken spent a couple seasons in Cincy being a whiny little bitch, especially when the injuries started to pile up, which brought his “class act” status down a few pegs in my estimation, although I always liked him as a Mariner.

I think Griffey should fit in reasonable well in the Mariner’s outfield, maybe playing 3-4 games a week in left and 1 or 2 as DH, with a day off mixed in occasionally. At 39 years old, I don’t see him putting in more than 140 games, but he can certainly still contribute as a semi-regular performer.

I just don’t see how they have “Not a whole lot else.” You’re reading too much into their raw numbers and who was a superstar in 2008 and not enough into the ages and potential improvements.

Who exactly do you think will improve that I didn’t. Uggla is 29. Not really a guy who you can expect to get better. Cantu going to learn how to walk? Mcpherson going to figure out how to make contact?

Okay Hermida has yet have a year in which he has both healthy and good. Miller has been terrible thus far in the majors. Maybin is a good prospect, but not on the level of a guy like Longoria or Upton was. What if Maybin or Hermida struggle? What exactly is the Plan B?

Maybin and Hermida maybe? Who exactly do you think is capable of busting out? I’m not seeing a whole lot of offensive upside. There is some on pitching, but there is also a lot of downside risk as well. They have a pretty good minor system, but not an elite one. Atl might in fact have a better one.

As I mentioned earlier the Marlins were lucky and the Braves were very unlucky. the talent gap was more like 2 or 3 games.
