hey everybody , i know i’m new and i don’t know much stuff that goes around over here but listen , what do you think of a thread where people can tell the story of their life and maybe open up a little bit , get out of their shells , you know , \*\*share a bit \*\* there are lots of people out there who would like someone to hear their story , feel their pain . have you ever thought that maybe , 1 in a 1’000’000 that someone out there dying inside and you can help by listening. you know all of us had that little friend that always was a bit …sad and she/he would always come to you and talked for you because they trusted you , and you would make 'em feel better just by listening. for example , i was a kid full of darkness and fears and sadness…i used to cut my self but than someone special listened to me , i got better i said goodbye to my pills and shrinks and shit. because my friend listened he helped and now it’s my turn. i want to help please think of this thread like a life saving matter. please don’t ignore it saved me from suicide now we can save a lot of other people stuck in their shells. think of it and give me your most humble opinion and answer. thank you so much. _much love , dora_ ---

That’s nice and all, but if you really want to help, encourage such people to seek professional help. While it might be personally gratifying to think you’ve done a good thing, you’ll be doing them a much bigger favor in the long run if they get proper medical attention from people trained to deal with it. ---

While I’ll give you credit for having your heart in the right place, the thing that will work best in the long-run and for the most people is getting professional help. Welcome! I’m like you; I just like to get things out in the open. We all suffer; ain’t no shame in it. As for the details of my life story, well, that story gets more boring the older I get. Sufficed to say, having a past to heal from has changed me for the better. I like who I have become, and I don’t think I would be that person if it weren’t for the rough times. There is a hard lesson I have learned, though, and that is other people’s happiness is NOT my responsibility. I can try to give advice based on my own experience but everybody has to work out their own salvation. ---

Bastyna, have you considered volunteering to answer the phone at a suicide hotline? It sounds like exactly the kind of thing that you’re interested in doing and you could definitely do a lot of good there. There are a lot of people out there who just need someone to talk to. ---
