Are they related to wood lice?
Didn’t I see those in Godzilla:1985 ?
From Kevin James (King of Queens) Stand up…re: Water Skiing…just bobbing up and down in the water…waiting with your feet just dangling…
“…I learned one thing sitting out there with the skis on waiting for the boat to come back, and that is that I have the same reaction whether my feet touch seaweed or a great white shark…”
Looks like one of those baddies from The Dark Crystal.
Actually, yes. Go click on the “Are lobsters insects” thread for more info on these and other fine arthropods!
Those would be the Garthem. These great, clawed, crustacean/insectoid things were the soldiers and slaves of the vulture-like Skeksis.
This post has given me a new vocabulary word, yet stolen my peace of mind. Is this a bargain?
Bah, the viperfish and goblin shark pale beside the kraken. Myth you say?
Note that the individuals pictured are likely not full grown adults. We can discern this by the fact that they measure less than 60 feet from the tip of the 2 long tentacles to the end of their cones.
Note also that the last link is to the mesonychoteuthis. The mesonychoteuthis is bigger and meaner. It’s tentacles are equipped with swivelling hooks rather than suction disks.
Ack!, won´t somebody link a picuture of Flipper? Between the lobster thread and this one I´m starting to freak out.
