# Please help me with my pineapple plant.

I recently aquired a medium sized pineapple plant - well, small might be more accurate - it’s about 18 inches high.

It’s in a 6 inch pot. The pineapple in the middle appears to be doing well; however, the surrounding leaves are turning brown and getting very dry and brittle.

I would assume that it wasn’t getting enough water, but I’ve been watering it everyday.

Does anyone have thoughts? Do I need to transplant it to a larger pot? Even more water than I’ve been giving it? Am I perhaps giving it too much water? Fertilizer?

Please advise - I really like it but it doesn’t seem to be flourishing as well as it should - however, I’m totally unfamiliar with pineapple plants and I wonder if the browning of the leaves is normal.

I googled and found [this website](http://www.rickswoodshopcreations.com/Pineapple/pineapple.htm) which has tips for growing a pineapple plant in a pot indoors.

Regarding water, it says the soil should always be slightly moist, but not wet (which will promote rot) and not dry.

From your description, I think this is the stage of growing that you’re at:

Thank you for your answer - I’ve read that site before.

I’m actually past that particular stage, as my plant already has a nice green pineapple in the middle.

Thanks for the bump at the very least though. 🙂
