Wow!! I may have to try that. Thanks.
Thanks for that tip, BTW, I ordered one of these and it is indeed a damned fine spatula!
Isn’t it too narrow to support an egg? It looks like too much would hang off each side.
NarsG. I got a big kick out of your update! So damn proud of ya. Go forth and flip forevermore, my brudda/sistah.
Haven’t tried it on an egg yet but I don’t see a problem–when flipping an egg the only thing that’s really important is to support the yolk and it’s plenty wide enough for that plus it’s very easy to handle. That narrow form factor and well angled sides is great for getting sticky things off the bottom of a baking pan and it’s nice and flexible without being floppy. For under five bucks it’s definitely worth it and I was looking for a good spatch anyway since my favorite itty bitty metal one bit the bag a while back.
This is the griddle I have at home. Sits over 2 burners, we have gas, which I think is the best for this type of item, I think electric burners are a bit iffier with it.
It’s my favorite spatula, especially for the money. If Nars Glinley had kept his order, he wouldn’t have had to resort to this risky practice of pan flipping
It’s perfect for egg flipping–nice and slim so it slides right under the egg & flips it perfectly.
On another note, I had to make fried eggs for a crowd yesterday and tried this method. Turned out pretty awesome!
