Definitely not a bedbug, nor any type of true bug, I would say. Damned if I can say what it _is_ though. ---

Not a bedbug - [here’s a comparison image of bedbugs with a penny for scale](https://img.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_480w/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2015/09/16/Local/Images/bedbugs.jpeg?uuid=xfFzkFySEeWOntzooqKmeQ). Can’t tell you what it is, but at least you can rest easy that it’s not a bedbug. ---

Are you infested or did you find a few? I am not sure what it is, but I would spray pest control stuff in area it is found in ---

I appears to be a Ground Beetle (Carabidae), possibly a species of [_Panagaeus_,](https://www.kerbtier.de/Pages/Fotos/FotoLargeN/Carabidae/Panagaeus-bipustulatus-n.jpg)although the thorax isn’t exactly right. Carabids eat other insects and other small invertebrates, so it’s not only harmless but probably helpful.
