science fiction short story. IIRC it was called **Don’t Go Into The Fog** A man walks thru a fog bank and finds himself in an alternate universe. As he acclimates himself, he realizes that he can become very wealthy by “inventing” the zipper (or some such) and vows never to go out into the fog again ---
