I was popping in to say what beowulff said. Wolf spiders. We’ve frequently seen these around here. Well, apparently my timing is impeccable… Now my post in the other thread makes absolutely no sense. For a couple of minutes, I thought I was going insane. Guess that should teach me to pay attention for zombie threads. ---

The large spiders can deliver a lot of venom and that means a nasty sting where the fangs enter, and it could turn into nasty wound or inflammation… The spider has been into the rotting flesh of its insects and there may well be nasty bacteria on its outside. ---

Of course, few spiders rove about looking for humans to attack and in North America, few people will suffer more than a mild, pinpoint itching when bitten by the rare hostile spider.
