Or saying I did not perceive them as that severe? Or perhaps that today’s “problems” do not warrant the way these rules are being applied? I’m sure JC was a very competent, well-intentioned individual. But are they infallible, and ought their edicts be eternal? Don’t just cite his name, as tho that obviates all objections. ---

If you want to discuss something political and want to feel free to ramble and go into tangents, the Pit is a good place as others have observed. If it were me I would make the OP a bit ranty, but try to be more thoughtful in subsequent posts. We do have some really nice discussions in the Pit, not every thread is to attack other posters.
