You are blaming the current mods for changes that Jonathan Chance made.
And again, you are completely ignoring all of the problems that led to those changes in the first place.
Perhaps but it seems those rules came with new problems. I get there is probably no perfect answer to any of this.

Completely ignoring? Or saying I did not perceive them as that severe? Or perhaps that today’s “problems” do not warrant the way these rules are being applied?
I’m sure JC was a very competent, well-intentioned individual. But are they infallible, and ought their edicts be eternal? Don’t just cite his name, as tho that obviates all objections.
If you want to discuss something political and want to feel free to ramble and go into tangents, the Pit is a good place as others have observed. If it were me I would make the OP a bit ranty, but try to be more thoughtful in subsequent posts. We do have some really nice discussions in the Pit, not every thread is to attack other posters.
