# Please recommend a blog site

Soon, I will be ungergoing (another) major surgery, and I want to blog my experience. In the past, I’ve added pages to my personal site built with and hosted by [Tripod](http://www.tripod.com). But their interface, altho user friendly, is sluggish and doesn’t work well with Safari or Firefox (can you tell I’m on a Mac?)

I’m looking for something with a simple interface, like this board has, and that will support jpgs

What do you all use?

I like LiveJournal, myself. Minimal visual “noise,” easy interface, and it’s lockable (you can customize your friends’ list as to who can and can’t read it.)

Livejournal is good, but for customization options, I’d go with [www.wordpress.com](http://www.wordpress.com).

They rock, seriously.

A blog I like reading is on WordPress, I love its layout. [Home Sweet Home](http://homesweethome.wordpress.com/) (It’s a blog about domestic violence crimes, the blogger has a lot of insight into the dynamics in domestic violence, and is a valuable voice in working to better the systems that deal with it, and also advising people how to safely get out of such situations.)
