what **NAF1138 **said. eccleston remains my favorite doctor.
i used to watch old who back in the day on pbs: pertwee, baker and davison. after that, pbs stopped carrying who until rtd revived the series. i watched to see what the revival would be like. i kept watching because of eccleston’s portrayal of the doctor. sucked me right back in. well - that, and the man is just plain dead sexy, okay?
as suggested, watch the first season all the way thru:especially father’s day, dalek, the empty child and the doctor dances. those are the best episodes of that first year.
i wasn’t thrilled with tennant either when he took over. i also found him pretty jarring compared to eccleston, but over time he improved greatly and i think he did a bang-up job with the character.
today, i still don’t like matt smith a year after his taking on the role. however, most (not all) of the stories have kept me watching even tho i’m not a smith fan. that’s solely due to sm’s stories.
and thank the gods they’re tucking away the daleks and the cybermen for a while!!! overused, overused, overused, overused!!!
Thank you all. Yes I am watching on Netflix and I am talking about the ones they have as stand alone “movies” with Tennant. I did get confused by the ordering. The series is in order in Netflix, but Water of Mars is stand alone, and I could have sworn there were other reboot standalone. There are, of course, many older others but those I can gauge at little by the year.
Thanks guys. My moving into no WiFi land has severely interrupted my Who marathon. I am reduced to watching it alone at night on my iPhone. I’m giving in and calling for Internet today.
A personal fave of mine, that gets overshadowed by the typical Blink/Fireplace/Dances pics is “Partners in Crime”. Tennant/Tate facing the little animated body fat aliens. It is brilliantly loony
I just want you all to know that I am still watching one Tennant episode a day. ahem Today I saw “The Rise of the Cybermen.” Barty Crouch, Sr. joins Barty Crouch, Jr.! I am still trying to figure out how much I dislike the show, but I have to keep watching to make sure. ahem
What would the Doctor see in a courtesan? Or in an EastEnder, for that matter? Does she know he’s going to break her heart, eventually? How did the eyeball and the heart not decompose? And you can’t cure diseases just by splashing vaccines on people! And why did the school just burst into flames? And wouldn’t they miss the girl from the group home? And what about the families of the school employees? Hmmm…
