Cosby’s standup is phenomenal. I also like Donald Glover. Two black comics (multiple generations apart) that don’t do the stereotypical “black comic” bit. I like Kevin Hart but I can’t stand Katt Williams. I love Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor too, but for vastly different reasons than Cosby and Glover. ---

Hubby and I have seen Lewis Black many times. He has elevated angry to new levels and he is hilarious. Bill Engvall is funny as hell, surprised no one mentioned him. He is sort of an every man comic, in that almost everyone can relate to a lot of what he talks about. George Carlin was a legend. He was smart and funny. Carlos Mencia is hilarious, as long as you don’t mind a lot of cussing. Ron White makes me cry with laughter. “They call me Tater Salad” ---

I saw Greg Fitzsimmons live once and almost choked to death laughing. Gary Gulman is one who hasn’t been mentioned. Seconding Arj Barker and Brian Regan. I saw Regan once live and it occurred to me that, over the course of nearly two very funny hours, he didn’t swear once. Oh, and Bob Marley! Saw him live, too, now that I think about it. Jay Mohr. Don’t think I saw him mentioned. God, I love comedy. I need to listen to some now, too. ---
