> Are the flight miles really workable for you? Start looking into flights now. See how few seats there are for those mileage levels. The problem I had was finding workable dates to get there and back.

I just got my ticket. Boston to Honolulu round-trip in March for just charging regular stuff on my AAdvantage cards and paying it off + $10 processing fee. I still have enough points left for another domestic ticket anywhere. Not a bad deal at all from Citibank.

The Southwest card is great- IF you travel a lot by Southwest.

If you want the best possible answer to this question, I think you’ll need to browse over to [Flyertalk.com](http://Flyertalk.com).

The real prizes in mileage cards don’t lie in the miles you get from spending, but rather in the miles you earn from bonuses.

In the past year, I’ve earned about 250,000 AA miles simply from mileage bonuses on three Citi Cards. I am not a wealthy person, but my last international trip was with a companion in Lan’s Premium Business lie-flat seats.
