# Please spoil the new Pet Sematary for me

I’ve been reading the reviews for this and it seems the consensus is not good. Still, I’m curious to hear how the filmmakers have changed the story, as the last act supposedly goes in a different direction from the book and the original film. So would anyone care to give me the low-down? I don’t plan to see the thing, so spoil away.

As far as I can tell from the Wikipedia plot recap, the major difference is it’s Ellie, not Gage, that is first killed. The rest plays out pretty much the same.
ETA: except instead of the movie ending before (it’s implied) Louis is killed, they show his death (at the undead hands of Rachel).

Your link is also broken, because you also made the mistake of relying on the parser to include the close parenthesis.

I liked it a lot; it wasn’t one of those horror movies that mess me up for days afterward (like _Cookers_, or _The Babadook_, or _The Descent_ and a few others have done), but creepy and shocking and with just the right amount of graphic gore.
The switcheroo regarding which kid gets killed was quite a jolt for me (my partner, who hasn’t read the book or seen the first version of the movie, was spared that surprise – btw, he loved it and he doesn’t like a whole lot of horror movies).
Finally, connecting the end of the movie to the flashback that opens it (that is, the opened doors to the Creed family SUV) gave me a “fridge” frisson about an hour after I got home.
The only let-down for me was the non-mention of the Timmy Baterman incident beyond a line or two of dialogue. Because it was about the creepiest three minutes of the first version of the movie.
