This is my 3-point plea for members of this board to stop pointing out that it was Flavor-Aid at Jonestown. **Point 1** We know all ready. For god’s sake, we know. **Every** time Kool-Aid or Jonestown is mentioned on this board, someone has to come along and say, “it was Flavor-Aid, you know.” We know. **Point 2** The saying is “drink the Kool Aid”. It doesn’t matter if it was Dr. Pepper. We say Drink the Kool-Aid and if you said anything different you would confuse people who aren’t pop-culture/trivia nerds (meaning most people.) **Point 3** At the very least, there **was** Kool-Aid on site, and survivors called the drink Kool-Aid in the aftermath. I was watching the Jonestown documentary on tv last night, and there was footage of them going through their stores, and - lo and behold - Kool-Aid. So out of those 913 people, maybe some of them did in fact drink Kool-Aid. And the trials runs were most definitely done with Kool-Aid, so the people did in fact “drink the Kool-Aid”, even if it wasn’t necessarily on the day of their death. Thanks for reading. ---

I say that we start telling people it was Country Time Lemonade and that they _didn’t even have to put poison in it_, because I personally think Country Time Lemonade is a plot by the people at Tums to sell more antacids. ---

“Kool-Aid” stuck because words with a “k” sound are considered catchy and funny. (This last I learned in an old book on comedy writing. It sounds stupid, but, hey, it works for some reason.) Still, if I were the Kool-Aid company, I’d be mad enough to bust through a wall over the situation. Oh yeah. ---

I would like to see strictly pedantic posts cut back on and the posters held up for derision when they are pedantic and wrong. **The Punkyova** just happened to hit on a word that I felt comfortable challenging him. ---
