The casualties in SE Asia have topped 71,000 human lives lost to the tsunami & its aftermath. Amazon dot com has a link to donate to the Red Cross, with their One Click system. I gave $200. Any other Dopers donate yet? ---

$100 to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It was pretty much the first web site I could actually connect to and donate. Hope it’s a good sign that there’s a lot of traffic to the donation pages. This is just so hard to get your mind around; the number are too staggering, and now I’m hearing there might be 2x the number dying from disease. ---

My bank account is zero right now (Christmas stole my money)- hopefully I can afford to donate after the first. I did however convince my company to donate thousands upon thousands of clothes, that were sitting in our backstock, to the cause. I figured every little bit helps, right? I hope so. ---

Brief hijack: does anyone know of a site that has a partial list (seeing as they still don’t have a final count) of as-yet unaccounted for victims? My cousin’s over there, and we haven’t had any word from her since a week before the tsunami. Back to this regularly scheduled thread: I also plan to give to the relief fund. I’m not sure how much, but I’m definitely giving. ---
