# Please white trash people..get your damn pitbulls put to sleep

Here’s what I think I know about Pitbulls.

Several different breeds of dogs are called Pitbulls by the public around the world. I read recently that there isn’t actually a breed called Pit Bull Terrier at all. I find that unlikely, though I haven’t looked any further into that.

Inversely, whenever there is a dog attack, instantly most people assume it’s a Pitbull and that’s what is quoted in news articles. It wouldn’t surprise me if the majority of the time it is in fact a different breed of dog entirely.

And finally, [this](http://www.fordogtrainers.com/ProductImages/dog-breeds-muzzles/Bull-Terrier-muzzle-Bull-Terrier.jpg) is not a Pit Bull Terrier, it’s a [Bull Terrier](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_Terrier), a subtle but key difference, and though they look mean and ugly they are generally as harmless as any dog can be, which, of course, varies.

The dog that I think of as a genuine Pit Bull Terrier is [this nasty looking piece of work](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rumble2months.jpg). Oh wait, I mean [this](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Staffordshire_Bull_Terrier_600.jpg).
