I, too thought this would be about cheap table wine. What on earth does plonk mean in a bulletin board context? Perhaps I will look at K.os’s link. . .

There’s two sides to this.

One is the helpful happy side. This is a written communication based dealy-do. If you can’t make yourself understood in English you won’t be able to express yourself and not really able to exist here in any rational form. Spelling and grammar sometimes help out in communication. (I tend toward the “creative liberty” side of this though. Which is why I also tend to be thought of as a mental lightweight. But its okay, I like it that way.)

The other is the “I think you’re wrong but I can’t figure out why so I’m going to be an assmunch” side. This is an assmunch move, though sometimes it is permissable. (If the party being corrected is an anal assmunch, for instance.)
