That would be good to try first. You could also try blowing in air from the wet vac. My tub drain is located right next to the vent stack so it doesn’t work. Same for my sink. I had the main sewer line get eaten by draino so I replaced everything with wide curved PVC and all the problems went away. What a major cluster frick that was. Had to tear my entire kitchen ceiling down and the cabinets had to come off.
A plumber friend told me something like, “If it is or was in a pipe, it’s just mud.”
…which also flows downhill.
