Except that it’s a mistake to think that all of these people must be violating their _nominal_ beliefs, as there is no consensus view of what nominal Christian beliefs are. ---

IANABS Biblical Scholars, please help. I notice that both the ladies in the top pic are wearing rather impressive high-heeled shoes. Is there any mention of footwear in the bible? I’m guessing that all that talk about how Jesus heels (sic) is not related? ---

I don’t know that the belly dancing classes excluded men as such, but certainly I never saw any enrolled while I was a member. They had no qualms about dancing where I could see them, and they regularly give public performances to which all and sundry are welcome. First Congo doesn’t actually GIVE the classes, by the way. They rent space to a group named Desert Rose that does; they also rent space to a daycare, a midwifery, a psychology collective, a children’s-music instructor, Narcotics’ Anonymous, and a couple others I have probably left out.
