Police chase videos

Those bike packs are a plague in Manhattan during the warmer months and the police do fuck-all about it. It seems like they have carte blanche to scream up and down the streets in huge packs cutting off traffic and pedestrians.

I live in the New York area. It’s not about population. There aren’t that many news helicopters around here any more. Mostly due to some crashes that happened. The few that are up only fly a couple hours a week during rush hour. The LA area seems to have many more. We also don’t have many police helicopters besides medevac.

The New Jersey state constitution names the Attorney General as the top law enforcement officer in the state. The AG sends out guidelines on things like pursuit and use of force. Those “ “guidelines” must be followed by every officer in the state. The guidelines are immediately mirrored in county and local policies.

Resurrecting this old thread because it’s probably this best place for this, showing the apprehension of a Chicago murder suspect who flees to Ohio. It’s doubly impressive both because of the disciplined police procedures it illustrates, and because of how well the dashcam and bodycam videos are put together and the inclusion of information about the post-event investigation. Good job by everyone including the video producers.

Here’s a British one with livestream from inside the stolen car.

Sorry - I give up

How to post YT videos.

Interesting contrast with American police procedures, as the British cops are (literally) all over the car once it’s been stopped. In the US, the cops keep their distance, shielded by the open doors of their cruisers as they point their weapons, because of course in the US everybody and their dog is armed to the teeth!

I never armed any of my dogs or allowed them to carry arms given to them by others. Biggest risk from them was always being slobbered to death from enthused kisses anyway.
